EReS Research Lab conducts research in the area of system resilience. It focuses on investigating (and experimenting with) methods, techniques, and tools for architecting, modeling, developing, analyzing, validating, and operating resilient computer systems. By resilient we mean computer systems that are:

Secure and safe: The systems are safe for the users and secure from threats.

Sustainable: The system take into account resilience at a societal level connected to climate change and sustainable development goals. Engineering takes into account the sustainability of the system itself (energy and resource efficiency) but also supporting sustainability and resilience of other systems.

Adaptive: The system is able to handle stress and accommodate continuous change. The engineering approaches shall be automated and never-ending.

The engineering approaches use continuous system-thinking and are multi-disciplinary, considering at the same time all the system constituents, the possible affecting factors, and the properties of interest.
